Modern species are lovely and kind-hearted pets, and they rarely exhibit wariness toward strangers. Well socialized dogs can get on well with other pets in the house, but two males will always struggle for dominance. A male and a female can live a happy life together.

These dogs were initially designed for bull-baiting contests and dog-fighting competitions. Those would-be-bullies had an extremely wild and ferocious temperament, and over years they have developed great muscle, unbelievable stamina, high pain threshold and very strong jaws, which closed in a death grip.
