Bull Terriers - Typical Traits
Bull Terriers are claimed to be rather active dogs. They are clownish and genuinely interested in everything their owner makes them do. If the Boxer is bored, it can become destructive and rather hard to handle. Therefore, situations when the Boxer is left unattended for long periods of time should be avoided. Bull Terriers require close supervision, especially at their young years.
Males and females do not vary in temperament much. One of the drawbacks of the Bull Terriers excellent temperament is the fact that they can be rather lazy dogs. Taking naps is one of the breed's favorite pastimes.
Bull Terriers are unique in the canine world. They have been carefully selected and bred in order to develop their special character, temperament and stamina.
Bull Terriers - Health Issues
Breeders should inform potential buyers on the following health problems possible in the Bull Terrier breed. Dogs with the inherited diseases should not be used for breeding. Deafness, Kidney Disease, Lethal Acrodermatitis, Heart Disease and Osteochondrosis are the illnesses, which can be found in Bull Terriers. Bull Terriers shed twice a year. A daily rubdown with a special glove to remove loose hair will be enough to take care of the problem. Other than that, grooming the Bull Terrier is quite easy. Regular brushing and bathing only when necessary are sufficient. Bull Terriers should be properly exercised in order to be in good condition.
