Bull Terriers - General Information
Bull Terriers, also called English Bull Terriers, or White Cavaliers, are active, strong dogs. They do not do well with other pets but get along easily with strangers. The standard has neither fixed height, nor weight. However, Bull Terriers usually grow to 21-22 inches and weigh from about 45 to 65 pounds.

Coat Color: The most valued pattern is white with possible markings on the head. Other color patters are also permitted.
Faults: Blue eyes.
Health Concerns: The dog is prone to skin problems and various allergies. Deafness is occasionally seen.
Bull Terriers - History
The Bull Terrier appeared in England in the first half of the 19th century. It was a cross of the Bulldog and various Terriers. A significant role in the development of Bull Terriers belonged to the White Terrier, a now extinct dog.Bull baiting and dog fighting have long been associated with the breed. Breeders of the past were trying to achieve the ultimate fighting dog. The Bull Terrier is considered a tenacious and strong fighter that is dominant in the pit.
James Hinks is known to have crossed the bull and terrier with the White English terrier and the Dalmatian. This cross breeding produced an all-white dog strain that was called the Bull Terrier. These dogs became fashionable companions and immediately gained public attention by their imposing looks and character. Bull Terriers got the AKC recognition in 1936.
